The Barre Workout

What is the Barre Workout?

Sculpt your physique and work towards getting a dancer style body with the newest craze in the fitness world.

The Barre workout is a popular fitness routine which incorporates ballet performance, Pilates and yoga training. It was invented in 1959 by the ballerina Lotte Berk. She came up with the idea to combine her ballet barre training with her therapy to speed up her recovery after she suffered a back injury.

Is the Barre Workout for me?

The Barre workout focuses on postural strength and alignment with a series of upper and the lower body exercises helping you to gain flexibility. This low-impact challenging workout encourages participants to contract the deep stabilising muscles by performing a wide range of intensive exercises such as plié squats, reverse fly pulses and toe taps. This is combined with fun strength training exercises with light weights and mat exercises for core strength.

Some of the benefits of this workout can include increased flexibility and improved body alignment without putting unnecessary pressure on your joints.

Age and fitness level

The Barre workout is suitable for all ages and fitness levels and is a great addition to your fitness workout. Please notify the instructor before the start of each class if you have any injuries.
