Shodokan Aikido

Increase you concentration and reduce your stress levels by exploring the Japanese martial art that combines the techniques of judo and jujitsu. This predominantly defensive discipline will teach you how to take your attacker's balance and use their momentum against them.

Shodokan Aikido is a specific aikido style that was invented by the Japanese aikido and judo teacher Kenji Tomiki. He aimed to modernise traditional aikido and convert it into a competitive sport. Often called sport aikido, this martial art emphasises on randori (freestyle) sparring. The training method is a mixture of freestyle and a more stylized kata training along with a well-developed set of training drills both specific for randori and for general aikido development.

Shadokan Aikido can be attended by people of all ages. Shadokan Aikido’s qualified teachers make sure everyone who trains can continue training for many years without major injuries. Shodokan Aikido classes are very intense, but are always tailored to the people on the mat.
